Head Road Captain: Joe Welsh
My name is Joe Welsh aka the Iron Chef, my friends call me Joe. I am
retired firefighter/EMT after 26 years of active service. I now instruct
the new generation of firefighters and EMTs. I am also a SCUBA master diver
and instructor. I also work as a an safety consultant and fire investigator
for a major utility. As you can see I have a pretty full schedule. I look
for ways of burning off stress by putting my knees in the wind whenever I
can. My wife Kim and I purchased our first Harley on 2008. We now have a
2008 Road King and a 2009 Ultra Classic.
When I was asked to be Head Road Captain I felt honored. As you can see, I
have a passion for safety and riding and I want to carry that into my duties
as your Head Road Captain. I want to spread the passion for riding to new
and future riders and stoke the passion for seasoned veteran riders. I feel
that the head Road Captain is the link between the Activities Officer and
the Safety Officer. I would like riders in our group to share their
favorite places to ride. I want to tailor our rides to meet all our members
expectations and to make our rides both enjoyable and safe. All KYANA HOG
road captains and I will do our best to make OUR riding season the best we
can. So it's kickstands up..... let's get our knees in the wind....and
take the roads less travelled.
